Masonry chimneys - old and new -which service appliances that burn GAS, OIL,WOOD or COAL will benefit from Ahrens 2-Liner poured-in-place system. Ahrens is a proven solution to many masonry chimney problems.
Fireplace chimneys and smoke chambers can benefit from the Ahrens 2-liner system. Structural strength and a properly sized insulated flue will improve performance installation safety.
2-LINER PROCESS
THE FIRST LINER STRENGTHENS AND INSULATES
The first liner strengthens as a result of the special masonry mixture being mechanically forced horizontally into your existing chimney walls. The first liner fills every crack and crevice creating an interlocking bond. The excellent insulating effect and proper flue sizing of this liner keeps flue gases warm, reducing condensation no matter what fuel is burned.
| |

THE SECOND LINER SEALS AND PROTECTS
The second liner cures to a thin, hard, glaze-like finish that seals and protects the first liner. This resists absorption of harmful acids or moisture. Because the second liner is very thin, it heats up quickly, minimizing condensation. Each second liner is created in a single pour - no matter what the chimney height or diameter. That means there are NEVER any seams to break, joints to split, tile to crack or metal to rust.

OBLONG SHAPED FLUES
The Ahrens System is not limited to round flues only. Rectangular chimneys sometimes require an oblong-shaped flue. We have access to hundreds of oblong shapes to assure proper sizing for your appliance or fireplace.

SYSTEM APPLICATIONS

SMOKE CHAMBER LINING
Many lining/relining systems today are limited to the installation in the chimney only. Due to Ahrens' versatility it's possible to line even the smoke chamber are that channels the smoke to the flue. It's becoming more and more important to address this area if deteriorated. The Ahrens System will add structural strength, insulate and form a smooth surface to channel the smoke to the flue. |

FIREPLACE CHIMNEY LINING
Fireplace flues begin at the top of the smoke chamber. chimneys with damaged liners and unlined chimneys need the Ahrens Lining System for safety, efficiency and strength.

OFFSET CHIMNEY
Offsets in chimneys are a common occurrence. By controlling the cable the bell is guided through the turn. Proper placement of the guide pin will assure proper wall thickness of lining material.

MULTIPLE FLUES
With or without a brick partition wythe wall, multiple flue chimneys are no challenge. Providing there is adequate room in the chimney, there is no limit to the number of flues that can be installed simultaneously.

CHIMNEY PARTITIONING
Many chimneys are drastically oversized inside. Ahrens versatility enables the installer to partition the chimney and line one side, reducing material quantities, in turn reducing your cost. If the partitioning area is large enough, another flue can be installed at a later date if ever needed.
| |

ZERO-CLEARANCE
Current building codes require combustible building material to be two inches from the chimney. Unfortunately many older homes have these materials actually touching the chimney with no clearance for heat to escape. The Ahrens System has been tested and listed for installation in chimneys with zero-clearance to combustibles to make your chimney safer. |

ACCESSORIES & UPGRADES |

RAIN COVERS
Rain Covers can serve
a dual purpose. Not only does the cover deflect
rain from entering the
flue, but the screen will prevent the entry of
animals and birds.
The Ahrens Rain Cover
is also available with
spark arrestor screens capable of preventing passage of sparks to
the outside atmosphere.

HANDY MAN
CLEAN-OUT
DOOR
This fireproof accessory should be a standard in all masonry chimney installations. It is air-tight (it won't feed air to a chimney fire). This door permits inspection and flue maintenance from the ground. There are no latches to rust and the gravity-lock door will NEVER blow open.
SURE LOCK
APPLIANCE THIMBLE
One of the leading causes of home fires is a faulty connection between the chimney and the appliance. Sure Lock safely secures the flue pipe to the chimney with a triple-fastening system. In cases of severe down-draft, flash backs and chimney fires, this thimble won't fail. A special heat-resistant, high-temperature collar assures an air tight connection between the thimble and the stove pipe.
